Our raw material philosophy bans the use of convenience and food additives. In addition to traditional types of bread and rolls, you will also find classic German cakes and tarts as part of our constantly changing range.
The Steinhausen Family
In February 2006, the German couple Sylvia and Marco Steinhausen took over the well-known bakery “Dinkelbäcker. But that wasn’t enough – success is not a given. New services and products were in demand.
The Steinhausens learned their trade from scratch. Sylvia Steinhausen is a trained pastry chef and office clerk. Marco Steinhausen is a trained master baker, industrial clerk and business economist. Today both can look back on more than 30 years of successful professional experience. In the many years of their professional life they have gained a lot of valuable experience abroad.
The couple runs their bakery in Las Chafiras with great love and are always coming up with new ideas. They also supply selected hotels, supermarkets and health food stores all over the island with their excellent products. Their clientele is not only made up of German consumers as other nationalities have recognised the quality and their local population is therefore growing steadily.
Our recipe for success
The baked goods are exclusively produced ecologically. No baking mixes are used, only freshly ground grain without additives. The top priority is freshly ground wholemeal spelt or rye flours, water, natural dough loosening agents (sourdough, yeast) and a little salt. You can also order baked goods without yeast. We don’t use any preservatives or additives.
The spelt is not only ideal for bread or rolls of various kinds, but also for cakes and tarts. The production team is constantly creating new combinations of small types of biscuit with different seeds, honey and fruit. Our nutritional knowledge and experience is never ending.
